ABOUT US

The Del Norte Local Transportation Commission is a regional transportation planning agency and is involved in the development of planning documents that improve the transportation network in and connected to the county. Projects in the environmental, design, right of way and construction phase are implemented by State or local partner agencies. These collective project categories include:

  • Local roadway reconstruction and rehabilitation

  • State highway reconstruction

  • New roadway construction

  • State and local roadway bridge construction and maintenance

  • Transit services

  • Non-motorized facilities

  • Aviation

  • Goods movement

  • Crescent City harbor

  • Redevelopment projects

  • Tribal transportation projects

MEMBERS

Del Norte Local Transportation Commission members serve one year terms by appointment. The Crescent City Council appoints three members and Del Norte County Board of Supervisors appoints three members. The Commissioners, with the addition of a representative from the California Department of Transportation, serve as the Policy Advisory Committee. The current Commissioners are:

TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TAC)

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) exists to provide technical advice to Del Norte Local Transportation Commission (LTC). Members of the TAC are appointed by the LTC. The TAC currently consists of:

  • A representative from the Crescent City Harbor District:

SOCIAL SERVICES TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COUNCIL (SSTAC)

The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) is a council appointed by Del Norte Local Transportation Commission (LTC) to represent seniors, the disabled, and persons of limited means regarding transit matters. It meets once a quarter, and consists of the following members:

  • A representative of potential transit users who are handicapped:
    Diane Dickey

  • A representative of Consolidated Transportation Services Agency:
    Janette Muldoon

  • A representative of the local social service providers for seniors:
    Kevin Heckman

  • A representative of a services provider for the handicapped:
    Carmen Fong-Chavez

  • A representative of potential transit users who are 60 years of age or older:
    Elisabeth Burrows

  • A representative of local social service providers for limited-means people:
    Wayne Bunn

  • Geographic and minority representation:
    Brandi Natt

The SSTAC has the following responsibilities:

  • Identify transit needs

  • Participate in the annual unmet transit needs process, in which the LTC holds a public hearing to determine whether or not there are any unmet transit needs which are reasonable to meet

  • Advise the LTC on any other major transit issues, including the coordination and consolidation of specialized transportation services
